An Independent Voice for Community & Environment
I've been involved in politics for over ten years, so I've plenty of experience, even if most of that hasn't been in the public eye. I'm also actively involved in a number of local community groups, as secretary of the Residents Association in my estate, and as one of the founders of the Tallaght Residents and Community Umbrella group.
I've been campaigning for better planning, stronger supports for local communities, and improvements to our environment, among other things.
Over the past ten years, we've seen a lot of new buildings. Many people, however, feel that their voices don't seem to matter much to those in charge, whether that's at local level or at national level. I don't think this is right. I believe in putting communities first. It's now time to put as much effort into building our communities as we've put into erecting buildings.
That's why I want to be an independent voice for local communities in the 2009 local elections. I have the experience, and I'm committed to working hard on your behalf.
